What Kind Of Learner Are You

What Kind Of Learner Are You

More than likely, you are doing something wrong if you have trouble remembering things. This is very important when you are trying to remember Bible verses.

A lot of people believe that reading a Bible verse over and over again is the only way to remember what it calls for. This method does work for some, but not for all, because different people learn and understand things in different ways.

Taking a few minutes to figure out how you learn will help you figure out which ways of memorising will work best for you. This will keep you from feeling frustrated and like you failed at this and many other things as well.

What Kind Of Learner Are You

The three basic styles of learning

The three basic styles of learning are VISUAL, AURAL, and TACTILE (hands-on).

Visual learners are those who memorize best by reading and re-reading. They look at it until it is imprinted on their brain.

Read and Learn More Memorize Bible Scripture and Verses Quickly and Easily

Aural learners are those who learn best by hearing. They soak up information during lectures, enjoy being read to, and listen to someone explain how to play a game or put a bicycle together. Audial learners need to hear the Word to memorize it.

Tactile, or hands-on learners, want to do it themselves. They want something they can hold in their hands. Having something tangible gives them the focus they need to accomplish their task.

Do you know what kind of learner you are? Don’t worry if you think you lie somewhere in the middle, because from these three basic learning styles comes a more detailed assessment, which you will see described below.

So to help you get started in SUCCESSFULLY memorizing Bible verses, take a few minutes to assess which style of learner you are. Once you have, you will be able to choose the method of memorizing that will be the least frustrating and most enjoyable (and successful).

  • Visual learners: They like to read, are good spellers, have nice handwriting, are detail-oriented, and would rather watch to see how things are done before attempting something themselves. Visual learners excel by using flashcards, charts, and colorful markers.
  • Aural learners: Aural learners excel as long as they can hear what is being taught. Aural learners crave conversation and work best with music playing in the background, and by having directions and stories read to them.
  • Verbal learners: Love words. They excel in reading, writing, speech, and debate. Verbal learners are good listeners-they thrive on words-as well as being good storytellers and story writers. They get bored in lectures, though, as they would rather read it for themselves.
  • Tactile learners: Tactile learners excel in science, cooking, arts and crafts, sports, and music. They want to do it themselves and learn best when they are allowed to do things in steps- mastering one step before moving on to the next.
  • Logical learners: Love to reason. They prefer numbers over letters but will read if it is something they consider relevant and useful.
  • Social learners: Work best in groups. They aren’t necessarily competitive but need social interaction and comradery to keep them going.
  • Solitary learners: Love the peace and quiet when reading or doing almost any task. The solitary learner categorizes fun and learning; making time for both, but rarely mixing the two.

Were you able to determine how you learn best? Now let’s use that to get you into God’s Word and to get God’s Word into you.

Get To Know Your Bible

Get To Know Your Bible

Christians can’t really get better at their faith if they don’t know what the Bible says.

what God wants and expects from us, what promises he has made to us, how to share our faith, how to act in the world and in the church, and how important and powerful prayer and worship are in our lives.

It’s not like (most of us) would try to put together a child’s bike or IKEA furniture without first reading the rules. So why would we even think about living a Christian life without the Bible to teach us how?

Read and Learn More Memorize Bible Scripture and Verses Quickly and Easily

No, this doesn’t mean you need to learn the Bible by heart, but you should know what it says. Remember that you shouldn’t worry about memorising verses until you know your Bible well.

Get To Know Your Bible

But what does that mean? What does it mean to be familiar with the Bible? It means you:

  • Can find the different books of the Bible with ease and without having to refer to the table of contents (using the finger tabs is ‘fair’)
  • Know the differences between the Old and New Testaments and their significance historically, prophetically, and doctrinally
  • Understand the relationship between God and the Israelites and God and the Gentiles
  • Understand how and why the Law of Moses is no longer applicable
  • Know what is necessary to accept the gift of salvation according to the scriptures rather than man
  • Be able to tell the most fundamental Bible stories
  • Be able to back up why you believe what you believe with scripture references

As you read through that list, how many of these things do you feel confident about? If someone came to you asking you what the Bible has to say about.

Would you be able to answer them and prove your answers by showing them scriptures that validate what you have said? Or would you be able to use a concordance or Bible dictionary to locate verses to do so?

I’ll say it again—this is not meant to be a guilt trip. It’s meant to be a wake-up call; one that ignites in you a desire to know God’s Word more deeply in order that you might live it more fully and share it with others.

And don’t worry-no one, not even God, expects you to do this overnight or to do it on your own. But you’ve got to start somewhere, so as the saying goes…”there’s no time like the present”.

Start here

Becoming familiar with your Bible requires you to:

  • Have a Bible
  • Read your Bible
  • Have an attitude that wants to learn
  • Have someone you can go to for help and answers to questions you have your preacher, Bible school teacher, or a friend or family member who is more mature in their faith
  • Highlighters to mark key verses in your Bible
  • Notecards, a journal, or Post-it notes

Start Small

Do not think you need to do everything at once. Make it a habit to read your Bible every day for about fifteen minutes. I believe you should read either Psalms, Matthew, or James.

Don’t be afraid to mark or underline verses that stand out to you as you read. Then, write down on a different piece of paper where those verses can be found.

Additionally, don’t forget to write down any questions you have about the Bible or what you read. You can also find a lot of things that can help you understand the Bible better.

Some of the things that will help you are a dictionary, maps of the Middle East that show where places are, books, and websites that tell you when and why each book of the Bible was written.

Look back at the list of lines you’ve marked and written down after two weeks of reading. You can pick one or two that are especially important to you. This is the first set of lines you are going to learn. You can do this, trust me!

Fearless In The Valley

Fearless In The Valley

Facing The Shadow Of Death

It is dark and scary in the valley of the shadow of death. That’s where we feel alone and left behind. There are times when we want to give up hope.

In the valley of the shadow of death, the poet says, we need not be afraid because God is with us.

God’s safety and direction are shown by the rod and staff that the psalmist talks about. The staff stands for comfort and support, and the rod stands for God’s strength and power.

We can be sure that God is with us when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. He will keep us safe and show us the way through the dark.

A Feast In The Midst Of Enemies

A Feast In The Midst Of Enemies

God’s Table Of Abundance

David, the psalmist, said, “You made a feast for me in front of my enemies.” You put oil on my head; my cup is overflowing.”

This verse paints a beautiful picture of how God always provides and watches over us. It tells us that God is still with us and taking care of us even when we are surrounded by bad people.

The fact that God set a table for us shows how much he has. The table is piled high with food and drinks; it’s a table that’s full of goodness.

That God is a God of plenty is shown by this table. He is the one who meets all of our spiritual and physical wants.

It’s easy to feel scared and alone when we have enemies all around us. But when we remember that God has made a feast for us, we can feel happy and at peace. We know God is with us all the way to the end and that we are not alone.

But how do we get God’s blessings? We get them by trusting in him. We trust that he loves us and that he wants what is best for us. We trust that he will provide for our needs.

When we trust in God, we can be confident that he will bless us. We can be confident that he will give us what we need, both material and spiritual.

Rejoicing In His Gifts

When God does bless us, we should rejoice. We should be grateful for his gifts and we should use them to glorify him.

We should also be willing to share our blessings with others. We should help those who are in need and we should make the world a better place.

Here are some prayers that we can pray for blessings:

  • “Lord, I pray for health and strength. I want to be able to serve you to the best of my ability.”
  • “Lord, I pray for love and compassion. Help me to be kind and generous to others.”

These are just a few examples of prayers that we can pray for blessings. We Can pray in our own words, but it is important to be sincere and to come from a place of faith.
