Faith And Trust
Faith and trust are the most important things in Christianity because they connect people to God. When it comes down to it, hope is what the whole Christian life is built on.
It is being sure of things you hope for and sure of things you haven’t seen. To really know what it means to follow Christ, you have to think about faith.
Understanding Faith
Faith is more than just intellectual agreement. It is often called the substance of things hoped for and the proof of things not seen. This means having a strong faith in God’s character and promises, knowing that He will keep His word.

Faith doesn’t make you blind; it sees beyond the real world into the spiritual world, where God is in charge.
What is Faith?
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Mark 11:22-24 (NIV): “Have faith in God,’ Jesus answered. ‘Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Faith vs. Doubt
Matthew 21:21 (NIV): “Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”
Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) – “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Trusting In God’s Plan
As we navigate the complexities of life, a pivotal need arises to surrender to the sovereignty of God’s divine plan. It’s about acknowledging that His ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts transcend our finite understanding.
Trusting in God’s plan entails relinquishing our desire for control and embracing His perfect will, even when it diverges from our own aspirations.
We find solace in the assurance that God’s plan is birthed from a heart of love and goodness towards His children. Though we may encounter trials, setbacks, and detours along the way, every twist and turn serves a purpose in the grand tapestry of God’s divine design.
It’s a call to lay down our anxieties, fears, and uncertainties at the feet of the One who holds all things together.
Trusting In God’s Promises
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
2 Peter 3:9 (NIV) – “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Trusting In God’s Timing
Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV) – “For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
Psalm 31:15 (NIV) – “My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me.”
